Bachelor Party Themes

A Bachelor Party Theme should be followed throughout the event starting with the invitations, decorations, supplies and costumes if applicable.

The Medieval Bachelor Party

Medieval themed parties are great for bachelor and stag parties. This is a very unique way to have a great time and have an ultimate bachelor party at the same time. By throwing a renaissance party, complete with minstrels, castle motif and supurb costumes, the event almost becomes sureal. I didn’t realize how much fun you could have at a bachelor party.

How to Host a Medieval Bachelor Party

Begin with renting event facilities that have themed rooms, this is a good way to go medieval without to much trouble. If you plan to remain in the same location, have a sword fight competition, etc, then you can also hire caterers and musicians to play themed music too. This type of bachelor party can go to the extreme and be a full blown medieval experience or you can go simple with simple decorations and cardboard cutouts for your castle. A full blown medieval stag party usually requires that everyone have names and must address the groom as Lord Baldor, or something like that.

Most Bachelor and Stag parties don't usually involve a formal invitation, but in the case of this type of party theme, you might want to. Mail out bachelor party invitations with a medieval design that say this stag party is for Lord, King, whatever you want, then the Grooms name. Be sure to tell guests that it will have a medieval themed and where the costumes can be rented, along with the usual invitation information (time and place). You can also arrange to have horse carriages in some cities, or rent hummer limousines, etc. You can also get the group together to go to the costume shop together before the party to pick out their outfits.

Even if you don't do this themed bachelor party, it is still a great idea for any adult, children or birthday party theme as well.

The Decade Bachelor Party Theme

This can be any decade you want, usually based on the age of the groom and when he was in his teens, such as the 70's, 80's, 90's , you can even go earlier if you want, but it will depend on the groom too. With a decade as a theme, you can incorporate many aspects of entertainment into your party planning including: popular foods, clothes, games, and music. Guests decked out in decade party attire will add to another element to your bachelor party decorations, not to mention some good laughs. Think of how much fun guests will have putting together outfits for the event. You can even have a contest for the best decade outfit.

The Hawaiian Bachelor Party Theme

Again, this is another great themed party. Decorations, wedding plastic plates, invitations, costumes, music and food can all be a Hawaiian theme.
Choosing what to serve at your party is completely up to the host. Regular party food is always fine. However if you want to get creative, find or make some foods that are only found on the islands. You can incorporate beach and summer games of course, but you can also rent a projection screen and play a game of NHL on a game console with life size players on the screen.

Bachelor Party Ideas

Looking for some bachelor party ideas?

There are many different ideas to help you decide which one is the best for the groom, but not all will be the right choice. Your first job is to determine what the groom will like, then from there you can tailor the stag party to fit his ideas. The second job will be to determine the date, this is probably one of the key parts and determining a date that is close enough to the wedding and yet still far enough in advance may be a challenge for some. The best bet is to plan a bachelor party about 2 to 4 weeks before the big day.

Traditionally, the bachelor party is held on the night before the wedding, but we all know how those turn out. The groom gets abandoned in some remote place, tied to a tree with only one shoe, a pair of shorts, a drivers license ( that's not his ) and a 10 dollar bill. This is probably the worst thing you can do to a groom, so don't do it. For one, you may never be friends again, and depending on the bride, she might come after you. If the bachelor party is not as crazy as that, but still involves too much alcohol, then the groom will not be in shape to have a great wedding as the bride usually tries to plan. You want the groom to be at his best that day, so make sure your bachelor party plans take this into account and happen several weeks before the big day.

Some of the better ideas I have seen for bachelor parties include the getaway places. These often involve taking a flight, or bus to another destination and usually take place over a weekend then just the one day. There are so many places I can name, I will only list a few, of different types of stag parties you can do, then you can customize it to suit your location and needs.

The Almighty Vegas Bachelor Party

Not to be confused with any other destination, the Vegas Stag is still one of the most popular bachelor party locations. The city itself is the adults playground when it comes to parties and just going crazy. There are a plethora of special event companies that will cater to any and every fantasy or adventure you can probably think of. The Vegas bachelor party is also not the most cost effective, but can be the most memorable. No pictures allowed on this one boys... as the rule goes, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, and nothing can be further from the truth. This stag party destination should be for the more adventurous types and those with the extra spending budget, almost any of the great tours, parties or clubs will require a fair chunk of change.

The Camping Weekend Bachelor Party

This is a great type of stag where the people attending are of the camping or outdoors nature. You can use your own trailers or rent some cabins. Depending on the are you live in, you can incorporate some white water rafting, bungee jumping, hiking, mountain biking, quad riding or any other outdoor activity. You will need to plan a lot ahead of time for this type of event, such as travel and reservations, or any activity booking you need.

The Winter Getaway Stag Party

This is for the winter sports groom out there. If he is into skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, or any other winter sport. Then this would be a great bachelor party idea for him. Arranging a skiing weekend with a local tour company is usually fairly easy too, especially if you are withing driving distance of any mountain resort and it is the right time of the year. Although most people do have summer weddings, you might be able to time it to get into the end of the snow season for some spring skiing or snowboarding. Doing spring snowmobile trips is a little more dangerous actually and I do not recommend it because of the risk of avalanches, especially mountain riding. However, if you can get to a trail ride type snowmobile tour, then go for it. A great bachelor party is to go on a trail ride on snowmobiles, stop at a camp and have a big fire and steak bar-b-que , then either continue the next day or make your way back along another trail.
